You must simply fill the washer to only about halfway (a medium load) and run it as a full load (a large load). That way, the foam flower on the top of the bag will have room to float in the machine. This is the best solution I’ve found to get the traps to work properly. I haven’t used the bags yet, but they seem like standard laundry bags.
Similarly, you should run a small load of laundry as a medium to get the traps to work on smaller loads. If you were washing, say, only one item, you should be able to run the load as small and still get the traps to work. I haven’t been able to get the traps to work on a large load, and I think that’s because the traps don’t have sufficient room to float in a full washer.
Dont forget to take the traps out before you put your laundry in the dryer, though, because the mesh of the little bag will pull away from the plastic frame in a dryer (learned from experience).”
